The day starts with a pickup from your hotel and a transfer to Wanchaq or Ollantaytambo station, where you board the train to Aguas Calientes. Your guide meets you there to walk you through the plan.
You ride the bus up to Machu Picchu (about 30 minutes) and tour the citadel for two hours: the Main Plaza, the Round Tower and the Sundial, among others. Then there's free time for photos before heading down to catch the train back.
Itinerary
- Hotel pickup and transfer to Wanchaq or Ollantaytambo station
- Expedition train to Aguas Calientes (Vistadome or Vistadome Observatory available, ask us)
- Bus up to Machu Picchu (30 minutes)
- Guided tour of the Machu Picchu citadel
- Return to Aguas Calientes and train to Ollantaytambo
- Transfer from Ollantaytambo to Cusco
